Manchester Airport

Hi, I'm looking for some advice regarding an incident caused by Manchester airport.
After checking in for my flight with my dog, security left us standing around, waiting to load my dog, for so long, that the flight left without us. Our next available flight was 5 days later. This was caused by the airport, not the airline. Do I have any recourse for compensation?
My wife and family flew from Gatwick, and spent a week without me, or transport as I am the only driver. The distress this caused was horrendous.
Can anyone one offer any advice on how to pursue this further?
Many thanks.

Presumably, your dog was in a crate and would have been taken downstairs to loaded with other luggage so I slightly at a loss as to how security could be to blame. Having said that, security at manchester got so bad, and I was flying 20 times a year, I stopped using the airport altogether. Where was the flight to, and why did you have to wait with the dog, a little more information might be helpful, at first I thought you might be discussing a guide dog, but as you were the driver, I hope that was not the case!0

I didnt realise you turned up in the terminal with the dog, I assumed it would be like Heathrow where they have an animal centre where you have to take your dog to a few hours or a day beforehand.0
