Be careful of this survey because the seller will inevitably use it to reduce the offer further.
But its good to have a Plan B!No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.1 -
Thanks. I'm definitely not willing to reduce the price further. I felt a bit pressured into accepting a low offer as it was, but this is why I want them to pay for it as well because I could get this survey, all could be fine and then they could pull out anyway or could try to get the price down even more, which is not going to happen.0

Yes I had cracks in render on my 1930's house. But they'd been filled and repainted over the years. It was ground movement over the 90yrs. The report you mention is 'potential subsidence' but that's just to cover. Means he has no proof one way or another.I'd be worried if the cracks went all the way down, if they started at the roof line but you often see them between windows like that.I was also caught in the trap of these surveys but my buyers wouldn't let me see the points they said were made because they paid for the survey........in which case my point was if I don't see the full context I won't accept it because it was basically things you'd expect in such and old house and not major problems. Heck I knew that house inside out. I just said I'd put it back on the market and that worked.Repainting and new kitchen sounds a good idea. It would also take you to a more settled time in this country we hope so more viewers and a better environment.I think you win on both choices, sell now or get more later.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
