I want it but knowing Apple there will be a patch to any issues in a few days so do i go for it or do I wait?

I only had 13.7 a few days ago. Apple tend to roll updates out gradually so as not to swamp the servers. Yes you should update as soon as it's available as it may contain important security updates.

I've been using it through the beta and got the final public release product last week, there are no showstoppers or major bugs (in fact I haven't found any bugs at all yet).

Anyone know why those 4 dots (page indicators) are taking so much space in iOS 14? Any way to get rid of that space?

Nope its a design/interface choice Apple have made which can't be changed

It’s a control you can swipe across it to change page quickly. When in Jiggle mode, you can tap it to enter the page edit mode where you can hide Home Screen pages.

iOS14 and ipadOS14 took two and a half hours from starting to actually being installed.
WatchOS7 took a horrendous 13 hours!
