Hi, trying to sort out some internet when there is a possibility I maybe moving within 6 months
Any ideas? I know I can sometimes take contract to new address, but I am not sure I can. 30 day contracts seem to have a high setup cost. I was wondering about maybe mobile internet, so I could take with me?
Thanks for help

See what sort of service you can get using your phone - it's not difficult to get a paygo sim from different providers to see whether it will do what you want before taking the plunge and getting a longer term deal. I use a mifi unit with a 3 paygo sim when we go away and it gives us sufficient data for surfing, e-mail and other stuff but I wouldn't use it for streaming as it would be too costly although there are short term or monthly deals available which might suit. You need to check what sort of service is available where you live to see if it's viable.
I cant get better than 8mbit/s where I live and it frequently drops to around 2,bit/s so I wouldn't be happy to use it as my main broadband service but it's a good standby. I've had better service in other places - just last week we were getting 24mbit/s on a caravan site in North Norfolk which would be OKNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1 -

I do use internet TV as main TV and also work from home, so unlimited a necessity and speed is important
I travel upto 2 days a week & although a lot of places do free WiFi (like train, train stations & my work when I need to go to the office) it would be good to be able to have a backup I can take with me
I anticipate maybe moving to another property in maybe 6 months, then moving again after 6 months before settling down to a place I could take a long term contract again
Any recommendations on router for mobile internet? I have a mifi, but don't think it would be great plugged in all the time?
What sort of speeds do people get on different networks & what is the fastest I should be roughly expecting from mobile internet?
My current choice is:
a) Virgin unlimited 50mb fibre £45/m 30d contract (£80 setup fees, holding contract for short term length of 6 months or less factored in)
b) Three unlimited (uncapped speed? estimated 2-10mb) mobile £13/m 12m contract (£60 for mobile router factored in)
c) Vodafone unlimited (uncapped speed? friend nearby gets 35mb) mobile £22/m 12m contract (£60 for mobile router factored in)

You'd have to try mobile wifi to see whats available where you want to use it.
Generally fixed wiring (whether it be optical or copper) is more reliable and consistent than wireless. Wireless can be very variable, for instance I get better speeds at the back of my house, rather than in the front and it's even better outside in the garden but they aren't consistent so although you have a friend living nearby with decent speeds it doesn't necessarily follow that you will get the same.
