 We are tied to them on a fixed tariff til next may. Also we couldnt shoulder a massive increase in cost even if a mistake that  would eventually be identified and refunded.

They only allow you a variable tariff, if you refuse a smart meter. My contracted fix ends in June 2021; then I'm off.
