Speed round a corner so you roll into a field. Once the car is on its roof, get a bucket and a funnel ready.
Pop the filler cap and bob's your uncle.

What a tightwad! When I sold my car privately last year I filled it up with petrol the day before as a friendly gesture to the new owner.
I did see a comment here once that said let the air out of the tyres, you paid 50p for that at the garage when you filled up.
  • As an aside, should advice be given on a public forum on how to syphon fuel from a vehicle's tank, modern or otherwise?

Why not? Its basic physics and youll get the same advice on a fish tank forum and elsewhere. I would say defeating a fuel cap lock advice isn't the smartest but thats not whats being discussed.

    It's very timely advice.
I have spare time in the evenings and boxes of unused face masks.

Anyone know where I can get a few Jerry cans cheap.

Why not? Because those who could be inclined to steal fuel might well not posess a basic knowledge of physics!
Unlike the many smart Alec geniuses who populate this place.

Careful with that naked flame if you are doing it in the dark.
  • No real help to the OP but someone found a good way to do it on my land rover. They were disturbed though so got no petrol. They even left me the screwdriver they'd hammered through the bottom of the tank.

Not sure the car dealer would take kindly to me making a whole in the tank. Might be the only option lol.
