Looks like I have my MOT test booked too early (by two days) , I'm wondering whether it is 'worth' moving the date or just going ahead with the test (assuming it passes)?

Yeah that's what I was sort of thinking, but in practice would that month make any difference .
  • So when is the MOT due?

They will loose a months mot EG and this is clear.
Lets say mot expires 10/10/20 and OP takes it out early, so instead of the new mot starting 11/10/20 it will start alomst early and that is a fact..

Yes, it would make a difference to some, but not others. You need to decide as it's your car if you are selling 6 months down the road that leaves 6 months but if you wait 2 days you sell at 6 months you are left with 7 months.
    The choice is yours.

That - as so often in your posts - is not a fact.
If the current MOT expires on 10/10/20, and he tests it tomorrow (16/9/20) then that is within a month of the expiry date and the new MOT will expire on 10/10/21

Up to a month before the due date you get a year plus the days before it is actually due.

Mine was due a few days ago, I had it done before August bank holiday, it expires September 2021.

Yes, it's up to one month minus a day.
