New York hotel accommodation

I stayed there last September. Yes, it was cheap but you have to factor in the drivers tips (one courtesy bus an hour) and the two train fares each way to get into Manhattan. It's about a 45 min journey to downtown Manhattan. There really isnt much around there except a few other budget hotels. I think, though, that there is a restaurant in the nearby Holiday Inn Express.
