I don't think that's true. But if it is, please can you quote your source on that? Making statements without backing them up ends up being propaganda and just scares people out of trying to protect themselves. The mandatory mask rule is something that has actually been suggested to politicians by medics. There's no sense of false security at all. If only people would dispose of them properly we'd all be a lot better off. And there are the ones that can be washed at 60 degrees rather than thrown away.RyanHello said:Isn't it funny that the countries that have introduced face masks have the highest amount of cases.
It makes me think that the mandatory mask rule is more of a political, than a medical rule.
Gives people a false sense of security. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Although I do carry out careful research before posting and never intend to mislead or supply out-of-date or incorrect information, please do not rely 100% on what you are reading. Wearing a masks doesn't fully protect the user from catching Covid19 as the virus itself can penetrate the eye membrane instead. The virus is small enough to penetrate most face coverings unless you are wearing an N95 type masks. And even if you are wearing a N95 type mask then the virus can be spread when the user touches their face in any case.MalMonroe said:

The authorities' stance on face coverings is to reduce the 'aerosol effect' rather than providing solid protection for the wearer.1 -
Reusable masks? Not for healthcare workers obviously but for ordinary people.MalMonroe said:
That may be true but we really are stuck between a rock and a hard place right now. Don't wear a mask, run the risk of dying. Do wear a mask, run the risk of ruining the environment. It really is a tough choice.Aranyani said:All these disposable masks will be doing so much damage to the environment. Archaeologists of the future will be able to use the layer of PPE to date fossils etc to 2020.1
