Mobile provider still hasn't arranged for return

Hello, have been lurking on this forum for a while and thought I'd register to ask a quick question about a situation I'm in.
I signed up for Tesco Mobile at the end of August to get a new phone (after o2's upgrade was a total rip) and ordered the A71. After receiving a defective handset I contacted TM and they sent me a replacement and arranged for the return of the original one. After using it for a couple of days I decided it wasn't for me (wasn't much of an upgrade) and bought an S20 outright and went on a sim only plan with EE. I arranged for the cancellation and return of this handset on the 3rd of September and to date I still haven't received the return envelope that they claimed they were sending to me. Have followed up twice and am told the same thing (3-5 days to receive, which has long since passed)

I'm wondering what to do in this situation? Every time I call I seem to hit a brick wall and the phone is just taking up space still sealed in the box - do you reckon I could return it to my local Tesco even though it was ordered online?

Do the T&Cs say you can return in store? If not then to do so would be very foolish - what if it went astray? You'd still be liable for it.

A phone in a box isn't exactly taking up a huge amount of space, it's not like it's a washing machine or a sofa ... just wait for TM to get their act together.
  • Cheers, yeah I suppose I should just be patient, just worried I'm going to end up with a surprise direct debit if they don't get it sorted soon.

And if that happens you make a complaint.
Have you tried contacting TM via twitter ?

Yeah tried both social media options and they advised me to contact them by phone

Called them again today and they're saying it's on the way and nothing else needs to be done. They also said there is no active plan or credit agreement on file and that I'm due a refund at the end of the month.
