I seem to have lost the last hour doing who knows what..
Washing out on the line as it is a beautiful day. 2nd cuppa sunk. One piece of admin with a due date of tomorrow batted out of the way, I never learn to stop procrastinating. Long email sent to friend, with news and also trying to explain why I don’t want to meet up for lunch. Another friend visit cancelled for next week, we have agreed to z00m instead. I can feel myself going back into a very local-to-me lockdown....
First to sort out / look despairingly at the mess that is the utility room - a room is too generous, it is a hovel and an overgrown cupboard space. Then I will get outside...7 -
ionafan - I don't like 'rides': steam horses is my limit and I'm not keen on them. But as you say it's one less room to think about - not that it ever did hit my flylady radar! I went upstairs a few minutes ago and GF had pulled out the chest of drawers to hoover behind it. She is quite happy pootling away up there it seems. She likes cleaning! (Is that an actual thing???)
While I was pegging out the washing DS arrived home. He of the not-expected-til-6.45pm persuasion!. No work so sent home. Zero hours contract - one reason why he opted to jump ship and take the salaried post, working office hours, with a shorter commute. I don't know when he starts there though. GF is also waiting for a start date for her new job. Once they both start working Mon-Fri it will be better all round (and I'll have Mondays at home by myself)
....phone rang...forgot that I was halfway through a post...
Second load of washing pegged out. Third load swishing. Three boxes ripped up and recycled. Marmalade jar and trifle dishes WUDU and recycled.

Hello all. Sounds like a lot of us are struggling at the moment. I had a full on meltdown this morning, first time I've cried in years. Things came to a head, DH is unwell (more test next week), Poppet is unwell but vet says this morning it's nothing serious, anniversary of dad dying when I had to make all the decisions about stopping his treatments and our area is on watchlist for another lockdown.
I am about to go for a walk, the dailies are done then I'm spending time in the garden as I normally find that calming.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Hi all
Tough times for everyone, just sending love and strength dear friends, I seriously think that if this thread disappeared I couldnt cope. I have been caught up in work - 44 hours done this week plus some voluntary stuff. Work is odd at the moment, very little teamwork, lots of unrest simmering, not sure if this is Covid related or something else. I am not in an industry that is directly affected either. Anyhow its not nice.
DS2 is pretty much over the virus, but oddly I felt tearful after I spoke to him the other night. He only went back to Uni at the end of June but I miss him and I would give anything to put my arms around him right now.
So, DH at work, DS1 been to work and gone to bed feeling shattered. I have scrubbed the bathroom, done lots of washing, made a cake, cleaned the utility room, emptied DW. Clean washing to put away and I want to hoover upstairs but better see if DS1 is asleep first.

Hugs Jazee - and fingers crossed.
I am working on my bedroom and the rest of upstairs (in theory - candy is also being crushed) bedroom needs cleaning (changed bed yesterday) and there are bits which need homes/decisions made. I am slowly gathering a CS pile and listing odd bits on ebay. And there is some actual throwing happening too. I have washing on the line (bedding) and not much more to do - I no longer have to run the WM and DW daily so I am looking forward to a reduction in electricity costs. I have checked that I can continue paying into my pension after my birthday and I will continue to accrue benefits. Although I'm at my employer's pensionable age there's no way I could survive on that, my other tiny pension won't pay out anyway so I need to get closer to my state pension age. *sigh*. Am incandescent that, apparently, our sorry apology for a PM cannot survive on his PM salary.
I've done a tiny bit in the garden, including pruning the buddleia as I don't want it to get grand ideas!
Well - it's time I moved...

Sending everyone hugs - sorry to hear about your DH Jazee xxx
All washing has dried on the line and been put away. We’ve done three dog walks plus a trip to the park. Flea treatment bought and administered, post office visited, petrol bought, lunch cooked, texted Mum to ask if she wants a big item of furniture that is cluttering my garage.
I’ve had forty winks, and have decided to take the children for dinner at the local cheap pub tonight. I’m taking them to look round the car boot sale in the morning so need to be organised with clothes & snacks packed up tonight. Right I’m going to move myself again.
Oh and I agree YL entirely- without you guys I would just be lost xx10 -
Flylady group hug, even to those who don’t do hugs ❤️Washing blown dry and the best result is that only one pair of my work trousers to become the ironIng pile.
DR tidied - into the utility hovel. So I have sighed and shut the door. Now I can believe it’s tidy until I go in there again. Various bits of floppy veg pulled out for soup making after I have picked up DD from work.Greenhouse has been tidied, just the chilli plants left in there now as it needs a good wash down before I think about putting winter lettuce in there.
Odd bits of plants cut back in the back garden, so it all looks a bit tidier as long as you only look from a distance. Some seeds saved for next year - insert “Martin”emoji here. I haven’t made it as far as taking cuttings, so that joins tomorrow’s list now.8 -
Rearrangement in DDs room aka study. Stuff put away to prevent it being a dusttap.
Escaped rabbit retrieved thanks to passing couple (in car) who alerted me!
Bedroom 3/4 dusted. 'Missing' earring located in their box in drawer. no-longer-needed jewellery boxes flung.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Evening all
Hugs to any in need, sounds like a few of us at the moment x
well flying has been done, but I’m not sure there’s much to show for it! Started with some garden jobs as that’s what DH wanted to do, we are clearing an area by the garage, it’s not really useful space but what the previous owners had planted was just overgrown, not very attractive and was scratching my car as it constantly needed cutting back, so it’s in the process of all being cleared but OMG it’s hard work! 3 car loads gone to the tip so far and at least one more to go, then we have to work out how to get all the roots up!While DH went to the tip I then started in the house, top floor bathroom scrubbed, my office hoovered and dusted, I decided in my wisdom (not) to change the furniture around as I thought it would look better, big fail... furniture would look better but it doesn’t actually fit properly! Either there is too much furniture there or the house is not big enough LOL, anyway at least the room is clean but that felt like a huge waste of time, DH cleaned the spare room and hoovered the stairs when he got back, rest of the house will have to wait until tomorrow as I’ve worn myself out today.
Supper cooked, eaten and kitchen reset, I’m going to have a hot bath and curl up with my book this evening I think.
see you all tomorrow x9
