In response to your question it could be that the lender was not regulated at the time your brother bought his loans but it has since been give FSA regulation. You can see the date a company became registered on the FSA register.*** Get the Martin's Money Tips Free E-mail at www.moneysavingexpert.com/tips ***0 -

I had a secured loan with First Plus and was never really explained about PPI being added on to balance of loan, i settled the loan 6 months after taking it out the PPI was £6377.60 but i was only refunded £2246.83 so was left balance of PPI had to pay £4130.77 for having the loan for 6 mths!! When i first approached them they sent me back copies of the paper work were i had signed for the PPI, then when i challenged them again regarding the FSA deeming it to be unfair having to pay so much PPI when the loan settled before term, still no joy they wont budge. what are my chances of getting this back??0
