as it says driving more will likely mean you pay more and also that driving less could result in a saving. This is qualified that not driving enough miles could class you as 'inexperienced'.
The money saving examples in the guide include a case dropping to 3,000 miles / year, so it does not seem certain that the 5k miles per year is the lowest point to go to. There may be someone with more insurance expertise that can give a more definitive guide as to where this cut-off is, or otherwise trial different mileages in the comparison sites to assess the impacts on premium of changing mileage.
My personal preference is always to over-estimate my mileage by a margin of error so that I do not have a slight change of circumstances and then run over the insured mileage that I have chosen.0 -

Just wondered, if I'm not currently employed, not actively seeking work or receiving any kind of benefits, would the option of being 'retired' be available to me? And perhaps come out of retirement when and if I go back into employment in say a year's time? Is this possible from a car insurance perspective?Alternatively, are there options to indicate that you're on a 'sabbatical' or 'career break'?I would be interested to hear from those who may have gone / are going through this - taking some time off work. I'd also be interested from members who may work in the car insurance industry for guidance?0

I would think you can only justify retired if you are actually in receipt of a pension. My wife retired on ill health grounds aged 44 and receives a pension but on several occasions since, insurance companies have queried why she's put down retired at her age and whether it's a declarable illness (it isn't).0
