Best time to leave one provider and switch to another?

Hi all,
I am out of contract and want to move my number to a new provider - I have been testing a new SIM from new provider for a while now to see if the signal is any good - so far it's fine.
Now, I want to leave current provider - my billing cycle is 13th of one month to 12th of the next month and money take from my account around 2nd/3rd of the month.
When is a good time to get a PAC code and give to new provider so as to minimise issues with final billing from current provider (I don't want to get "stuck" in credit then have to keep requesting the money after i have left them, etc...).
cheers,

get PAC anytime. its lasts a month before it expires
using the PAC cancels your contract with your current supplier & they should adjust payment accordingly0 -
