Here's a novel idea. Don't work in London.........Rocksolid said:Slithery said:I don't understand why you'd want to buy a property in or near London anyway, it's a horrible place to live.
You could buy a plot of land and build your own house for half the price in better parts of the country...Sure, but if I work in London, how can I make it?I'm not going to travel 4 hours a day, considering that I should swap between car and the train and tube, it's out of discussion unless I plan to move in that city and work from there in remote, but let's be serious, not so many companies allow you to work almost every day from home...
You won't earn a higher wage working elsewhere but the cost of living and the cost of housing will be far cheaper so you won't need such a high wage.1

Spot on, and people keep falling into the trapSpiderLegs said:Oh lord here we go again....
Every thread started of with being clueless, not grasping the basics, even after having them explained by multiple people, often talking utter nonsense a lot of the time.1

There was a big about digesting stuff from Ikea as well - maybe the wolf realises blowing isn't the way to do it and tries to eat the fourth little pigs new build.eidand said:I am confused, the guy is moaning about buying houses from IKEA? what's a paper house? Is that from the 3 pigs story?0

There's nothing wrong with Ikea if what you want is inexpensive but reliable furniture (which is often the type of stuff we need when furnishing a place for the first time) - we don't all have mountains of cash for custom built Neville Johnson, or design classics from Vitra or the Conran Shop with which to fill our first home.
Personally I thought the places linked to were a bit bland and soulless.2
