Only reason i have the CRV is it was nearly £10k off list price at a year old when I last went looking for a carSpoke to the boss after posting this and she didn't want anything but an auto and seeing as we're a 1 car family and she uses it more than I do we didn't bother in the end to go view it. The best laid plans of mice and men.....Still, gave me an idea for when I next go looking (this was a bit of an impulse thought), I'm finding it hard to look beyond a 7 year warranty though
The 7 year warranty IMHO has a lot going for it espcailly you intended to keep the car for a long time. As I said the car looks great on the outside but I'm no fan of the inside. You will need a full service to maintain the 7 yr warranty but I guess you know that.
If I was in your shoes, nothing beats an auto and if keeping the car for a long time and our budget was limited to yours I too would go for the Kia auto

The Kia warranty is excellent. We’ve got a 64 plate Sportage about to go out of warranty (99k). I’ll be replacing it at some point with another used Sportage. As already mentioned check broker price against a ‘new’ 70 plate but it looks a decent deal overall.0

You can have it serviced with any VAT registered garage, but you need to ensure that they only use original parts OEM for the car, not pattern parts, even if they are made by the same maker as the Kia branded ones. However should you get an issue just out of warranty, you may get goodwill if serviced within the Kia network. I've benefitted from this within Mercedes network, and others have reported similar success.1

Mercdriver, agreed. I've never had any of my personal cars serviced at a main dealership. When I had a problem with my Focus (not a mere, BMW or other imaginary car ) I had no issues because I had all servicing done by a VAT-registered garage to Ford specs with Ford parts etc.0

Going to the same dealer builds up a good relationship.
Btw, even with brooker prices we at times do get extra money off once we are given the dealers details and agreed price. The agreed price can be negoatiated depending on the model. EG if a new model that is recently out then no but if it has been around for 2 yrs or so, possibly yes.0
