Openreach engineer missed appointment - Post Office Broadband (not signed to OfCom scheme)

Options
Hi,

I was wondering if someone could provide some advice or direction please. I am with Post Office Broadband and have been having constant issues with temporary disconnection of services since purchasing their service at the start of this year.

Rather than pursue the problem I have been accepting it, but have had a change of heart. As a result an Openreach engineer has been tasked to come and check the household setup today. Two previous visits revealed a fault on the line that was corrected, and then a following visit (all work done at the exchange) when the problem was still occurring. Still the issue continues.

The engineer was tasked to attend 0700-0900 today and rang at 0845 to say he was held up and would turn up between 0900-1200 if I agreed, which I did. I have taken a day off work and have plans to do other tasks but am being held at home until the engineer arrives. Am I entitled to compensation for him not attending between 0700-0900? What about compensation if he fails to meet the 0900-1200 time? Post Office Broadband is not signed up to the voluntary OfCom code of conduct, so £25 is not automatically payable as far as I know.

By the way, its great that if I'm not at home for a scheduled appointment they can charge me £102. That seems totally fair!

Thanks in advance.

You can ask the Post Office but they will probably say no

Thanks JJ. Does that mean that PO Broadband is covered under the Talk Talk banner?

Random disconnects throughout the day seem to be a common occurrence with PO broadband, together with lower than normal speeds, by the way be careful calling in BT because if they find that your internal wiring is at fault they'll charge you I think it's £60 or £70, my PO broadband's been disconnecting regularly ever since I switched 6 months ago, plenty of reviews online citing the same problems, I can put up with it for another 6 months until I switch, I won't be back though.

No idea but doubtful . PO your ISP is the one to contact for compensation .
