Is my credit rating being impacted by this?

Options
There are times in the month where I fall into slight deficit for a few hours in my TSB Bank Account until I get a top up from my partner to put me back into positive.  I do it before the 1430 deadline on the day each time.

I don’t have an overdraft facility on my account.

You'll see on your credit files whether the unauthorised OD usage in being reported.

TSB will see it in any case, so will already know you're higher risk.

Do whatever you can to stay out of it.

Checked Experian and I got 999 score excellent.

In the grand scheme of things I hold a Premium Plus CC, lease car payments, broadband payments, phone bill, energy bill all of which are paid in full it’s just the slight knock on (never more than £50) which on occasion is left.

I always get a text from TSB as a reminder to top up before 1430 to avoid extra charges and do pay in.

The 999 score is useless. Bankrupts and dead people have a 999 score.

You need to check the data on your three files (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion).  Ignore the pretend scores and ratings.

Do I need to pay for those other two or are they free?
  • Request your statutory credit reports directly from Experian, Equifax and TransUnion or use one of the available free third party services to do so: MSE Credit Club, Clearscore and Credit Karma. Make a mental note to ignore any "credit score/ratings" they show you (as these are meaningless) and focus instead on the content of your credit files, AKA your credit history.

As for the OD - if your balance is positive by the end of the day it went overdrawn then as far as the bank is concerned you didn't actually use it and nothing will be reported to the CRAs.
  • Yup, as previously mentioned, it's credit conduct not credit score that's pertinent.

Your balance is recorded at 'close of business'.
I'm not sure what time that is for TSB, but most banks are nearer midnight. If your balance is not negative at close there will be no impact.

Perhaps keep a closer check on the account to make sure that their are sufficient funds in the account.
While it won't be reported as you are back in credit within their timeframe. It will be recorded on their systems and could effect a request for credit from them.
