Jet2 have changed our flight days and we have booked our hotel separately

Hi, we have a holiday booked for August 2021 where we booked flights and hotel separately. Received a message this week to say Jet2 have changed the flights, going two days earlier and coming back one day later. Unfortunately I've not been able to change our hotel to align with the flight changes. Spoke with Jet2 and if we cancelled the flights then we would lose the entire money that we originally paid. I paid the flights on a credit card so was wondering if this is a scenario I can use Section 75 of the consumer credit act?
Many Thanks
Tony

For the accommodation, it absolutely isn't a scenario where you can use this. Why is it the fault of the accommodation provider that a totally unrelated company has changed your flights? Look at other flights with other airlines to go instead.
Regarding the flights, Jet2 changing the flight dates by that much means they are liable to refund you in full (have they even offered this option to you? If not, ask for a refund, they are lying by saying you would lose the money), your flight has technically been cancelled:
https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/travel/passenger-rights/air/index_en.htm#cancellation
"If your flight is cancelled you have the right to choose between reimbursement, re-routing or return."
Are they even the same flight numbers?1 -
Morning
Thanks for the response. Totally agree on the hotel, not wanting to cancel that nor would I expect to be able to use Section 75 for the accommodation.
Jet2 response was "as your flight is going ahead as planned, unfortunately we would be unable to provide a refund of your flight costs"
Have just checked and they seem to be the same flight numbers.
Thanks, Tony0 -
They can not argue it is the same flight when they have moved them by 24 and 48 hours respectively, that is beyond absurd. They have cancelled that days flight, do they normally operate on the days they have moved you to? Its common for a flight to have the same flight number each day, hence why the flight numbers havent changed. What is the route, please?

Unfortunately one of the drawbacks of DIY bookings in comparison to regular package holidays.

I think there must be some confusion.
Jet2 can’t change the flights by two days earlier for the departure and one day later for the return and not give you the option of a refund. Something is not right.2 -
Just an update on this. I've got through to Jet2 and a very helpful assistant understood my issue, grievance and within minutes provided a full-refund as the flights were changed well over their 5 hours. He did say my original email has been misinterpreted at their end, that's why I got the response that they weren't able to cancel it, just shows the power of picking up the phone.
Thanks all for your support and responses.
Many Thanks
