Formatting not very good

Came here to say I find the text formatting options not very good.

When writing a message the writing/editing pane is not WYSIWYG, it displays as double line spacing but when it posts or preview the line spacing changes to single line spacing.   So That is annoying.

When I want to quote from another website there is no quote function like
this is a quote
There is no way for me to differentiate the quoted text other than using bold or italics So that is annoying.   EDIT: (this can be overcome with clicking the html option)

There are no coloured text options.

EDIT to add:
There is a problem with quoting other users in your reply, if you delete too much below the quotation box you can no longer type anything under the quote box.   And have to start the reply process all over again.  (this can be overcome with clicking the html option)

Most users will not know about the HTML option or how to use it.

Quoting is done by clicking the Quote button below the post in question. It then gets shown in the reply box in a shaded box and you start typing in the white area below it. You can manipulate the layout (if you understand HTML) by clicking on the </> button which switches from WYSIWYG view to code view.

Agree about the double line spacing problem (in the Reply box) and the lack of easy-to-use text colouring options.

Ah, OK. Same principle applies though ... click on the backward P symbol above (6th from left) and select Quote. This inserts a shaded box. You then simply paste the text copied from elsewhere inside that box, and continue your own typing in the white area below the box.

Here's an example of exactly what I described above.

So what you are saying is I can do it by clicking on the button if I can make my way through the code... hmmm let's try this.
    A quote from another website.
This reminds me of another problem, I will edit the top post now.
