I wonder what his hourly rate is?
UKPC will have paid him probably 3 hours to draft a skeleton, then travel costs from Canterbury to Leeds, and probably around £1,500 for attendance at the hearing. So they will have wasted around £3k to get a kicking, and a Judgment which will kill off their other claims once the transcript is available.5 -

A ruling such as this from an appeal before a Circuit Judge will carry more weight than a lower level District Judge ruling, and should be a valuable tool in similar cases, where the parking space is not demised as part of the lease, but the lease grants exclusive or unfettered use thereof.
However, the usual caveats about the lottery of small claims, and DJ Bingo, still apply. Once you walk through the courtroom door, all bets are off.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.9 -
@bargepole - thanks for the response and explanation. The judgment helps push the boulder slightly further up the hill. 😊Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Absolutely. Reading the report above they were awarded costs of £220 and this cheque is for £219 so I assume it is.
I'm keen to get it to the rightful person and am off on holiday for a week on Sunday so would like to get it posted out to them tomorrow!4 -
You could not make it up, could you?!
Can't wait for this transcript.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
