The weekend is so close I can almost smell it! So looking forward to it as the calendar is packed with rugby this weekend!!! Without corona we would totally have been at some of these games, but instead, sofa it is and watching them all! Will have to cook some burgers or something to go with the beers to pretend it's the in stadium feel! Got a curry fakeaway planned for tonight, made from scratch at home home with just some bonus samosas bought, yum!

Nov budget ready to go for payday next week, goals are:
    - £1,300 to emergency fund (we are in Tier 2 which means limited going out to pub as if its just the two of us allowed we might as well stay home and drink our own booze so extra to savings than normal!)
    - MB for OPs to mortgage
    - track every penny spent to assist with the building of expected monthly costs to start my "pots" budget for 2021
    - 10 no spend days for the month as a minimum. Too many little spends this month, all in budget but many not really needed. Fine line between living and enjoying/ unnecessary spending
    - cancel pet insurance (third set of expenses refused since the policy was bought at the start of the year so absolutely no point having it). Will just put money aside (in a pot!) for when expenses arise. Vet treatment is expensive, but might as well just pay for it as currently paying for treatment and the insurance which won't pay out so double spending anyway!

Happy Friday and have a great weekend all!
Current mortgage (1 Jun 2022): £289,501 - originally £351,999 got to love London sized mortgages!
    OP Goal 2022 = 3.75% in OPs: £6,975 / £13,200
Emergency Fund Target: 3 months saved ✅

Thanks MgComp....its certainly thought out, but sure life will throw some curveballs in!! Will feel better once Emergency Fund hits the target (feels better even now knowing there is about 1.5 months worth in there).

Finding reading various bits of diaries everyday helps keep me on the straight and narrow (ie walking past coffee shop to the office where I now have my cafetiere and coffee which tastes far better than the shop anyway and far cheaper lol).

Good Luck @rugbymadfamily with the no spend days.  I really like the challenge of those.  I generally try not to spend anything during the week ie make packed lunches, etc.  I personally failed this week as I've started picking up a few xmas presents. (I know its very early but with all the Covid restrictions I'm picking things up when I can rather than waiting until next month).
  • Thanks @caeler, yes I like the idea as it just breaks the habits of spending. Wont be one today as its food shop day but during the week is better as we bring breakfast and lunch to work.

Good going on Christmas shopping, I'm going to start post pay day. Keen to shop in stores to try support the high street (and avoid Am*zon at all costs as I despise their business practices even if they are cheaper!).

Good luck with this one! I might join you for November. I've never really tried it before but it seems such a good idea!
  • Love your signature @birdofpassage, running target and all sorts included, good luck with it!

  • NSD Mon was good, but unlikely to be any more this week as there is lots going on (all budgeted for though!). Sorted all the money moving post both our pay days so have topped the EF up nicely and moving in the right direction to the target. Now to be productive and get some MB and surveys done this month to get some OPs and extra Chrisrams funds!

  • Thanks @eat_that_frog read yours the other day and love all the home cooking (mulled pears sounded incredible!). Yes definitely sounds like similar situations so be really good to read how you get on and any tips and advice! I just find it so motivating on here, none of my friends are that bothered about paying mortgages down early so I find it great to have people to talk to here 😊
