New Meter Installed but also a mysterious box too. What is it?

It has something to do with my radiators and hot tap boiler which is electronic why does it need its own box?
Is it smart does it have its own signal like the smart meter?

Not a modem - others have responded - its probably a contactor associated with the off peak - but a photo would helpNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1

It's a switch to switch on/off the heavy currents of the offpeak heater and immersion heater installation.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
