My electric meter or something on it CLICKS LOUD at 01:10 every single night. WHY?

What is it and why does it disturb my sleep every single night? Who's great idea was that?

Ask your supplier for a smart meter.

Interesting, I had a pre-SMETS "smart" meter for a year and it was totally silent.  But with hindsight there wasn't a separate off peak circuit. Presumably true two circuit smart meters still fire a contactor which is where the noise is?

I saw the other thread about meters being installed by other suppliers and failed understand what was being stated!!

I'm guessing that the OP has a separate off-peak circuit and the loud clonk is a contactor which is driven by an auxiliary contact in the meter. Have you got two fuse boxes - one for domestic circuits and one for heating and hot water. Is one fed from the meter and the other from this auxiliary box?
A photo would help , showing both the meter and the extra box and how the wiring is routed from the main fuse, meter, extra box and fuse distribution panels. Failing that what make and model is the meter and is there any writing on the box.
