I'm assuming that this is only available to view via a browser and not through the Netflix app?

Computers and Android only. It's also limited to the first episode only of Netflix series.

So if you've always wanted to watch the first 40 minutes of Stranger Things but have no desire to see what happens next, it may appeal.

Well Stranger Things is episodic based so its based round cliffhangers, or at least the first one was.  It's supposed to be a really good TV series though, and if you pull your finger out you can probably burn through the three seasons in the space of one calendar month.  Was stupid enough to watch the freebie episode of ST and now I suspect I'm going to have to follow it through, so well done Netflix, your teaser worked. :)
