I have limited sympathy.1 several weeks ago people returning from Spain were told they had to quarantine and yet people still continue to travel..
They do it knowing the risks.
It isn't helpful the the the four Nations all have different rules in place,1 but if people want to take the chance that is the risk they run

If Boris had imposed an isolation on Scotland you and Ms Kranky would be jumping up and down screaming about us imposing rules on you when you have your own government

I wonder where the devolved powers will end. Could Scotland put an isolation requirement on anyone that had visited an area of England with high rates? Some of the rates in areas of Manchester are very high, should anyone coming back from Oldham to Scotland be expected to isolate in the future?
I live in England and am in a bubble with a lone parent who lives in Wales, am I allowed to visit if I take a break to say Zante? Possibly not, but they could visit me and then return home legally. I don't understand the issue; there are different rules in different countries. If you want to go from one country to another then you have to stick to their rules.0

But the above statesGrumpy_chap said:Well, that is interesting but does not explain how Wales has different rules from England if returning from Greece as the rules for both would be set by Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 (as amended by the Health Protection Act 2008).
public health services and education, are the responsibility of the devolved administrations in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

That's politics. Whilst it's being applied disingenuously it would be far preferable for politicians to take expert advice in so many other areas rather than rely on focus groups and which side of bed dominic cummings got put of. Whilst most people are mainly driven by who they are voting against rather than for I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion I want to vote against them all.Mickey666 said:prowla said:I don't understand the issue; there are different rules in different countries. If you want to go from one country to another then you have to stick to their rules.True, but it looks like there is a lot of 'politics' behind the rules and I get the feeling that wee krankie will impose different rules to Westminster just because she can and just to make a point of her 'independence'.It's a problem that pervades all of our 'opposition' politics. If goverment declared that the sky is blue, our knee-jerk opposition parties would dispute it or try to blame the government for it not being some other colour. If only they would ALL work together to figure out the best solution to whatever is facing the country . . . except of course that would mean ALL of them taking responsibility when it is so much easier to simply blame someone else. It's pathetic!0 -

Yep - pretty much my sentiments as well, which is why I don’t bother voting. As someone once said, it doesn’t matter who you vote for, the government always gets inbigadaj said:

The devolved administrations have responsibility for their health issues, nothing to do UK foreign policy.Grumpy_chap said:When did foreign policy become a matter for the devolved administrations?

7 greek islands have been added to the quarantine list for those returning to England from 4am Wednesday; so there is some parity for you. At least they have woken up to the fact that it was rather strange to include whole countries rather than regions/islands within countries. Now hopefully they will remove restrictions on the Canary Island rather than lump under the Spanish mainland.
All however still disjointed, and too late.
Anyone been through Gatwick recently and seen if they have updated the process for checking arrivals? When this farce started the paper forms that the government required from arriving passengers were optionally placed into an old cardboard box on the floor by arriving passengers. That after passengers from inbound flights from countries without quarantine restrictions all stood together in the passport control area with those arriving off flights from red zone quarantine countries.0
