This is the response from the CEO:
Dear xxxxxx,
Thank you for your contacting the Executive Office at Sainsbury's. I have been asked to look into this matter and personally respond to you.
I am sorry to read that a parking charge has been received from your visit to our Saltisford store on the 30th August 2019.
As the parking charge has been issued from Horizon in order to discuss the parking charge received, may I kindly suggest that you contact them directly, as Sainsbury’s are unable to uplift the charge.Once again, please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
I hope the clarification sought has been addressed regarding this matter.
Kind regardsMark Whyman | Executive Office
J Sainsbury plc | 33 Holborn | London EC1N 2HT
Would my next step be to contact Horizon with an initial appeal? Even without ever receiving a ticket from them and it now being a year old?

Uplift ? Wrtte bad stuff on social media. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1

Email the DPO at Horizon with a SAR to obtain all your data attaching copies of 2 recent redacted utility bills under the GDPR , the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum guides you through this
Or use a copy of your V5C if it has your current address on it , if it doesn't , update the DVLA ASAP about your V5C and also your driving licence too , or you can get real fines of up to £1000 for each offence
Check who owns the land , either using council records for business rates , or use the land registry , plus Google it in case of other cases2 -
Is this a stand alone site or in a retail park ? Sainsbury's do employ Horizon
Which such poor customer service, it's no wonder Sainsbury's are matching prices from Aldi and Lidl2 -

It is a shame that you have wasted your last opportunity to keep me, my family and my friends as a customer. If every shopping trip comes with a £100 surcharge, we can no longer afford to patronise your store(s). Since you employ Horizon as your preferred parking control device, you surely have some control over how they drive away your customers, turnover and profit. At a time when Supermarkets are wanting every bit of custom they can get it seems a strange strategy for you to employ.7 -

I did expect a little more than what I got if I'm honest.

I've seen the info on sending a SAR but that was to the DVLA. Would the template for Horison be the same as the one posted about the DVLA?
Apologies if you've heard these questions a thousand times before!2 -

Remind him that it is Sainsbury's who employ Horizon and as such his company is jointly responsible for the actions of Horizon. If Horizon continue with this, you will involve Sainsbury's in any legal action3 -
The newbies FAQ sticky thread is clear about sending a SAR to the claimant company , to their DPO , by email , there is a ready made template for it , I do not understand why you would even query advice from well known regulars herekt2405 said:
