roof issue on survey

I also wouldn't let a roof which isn't currently leaking put me off an otherwise good house, and certainly not for £2-3k. How much have you already paid in solicitors fees and on your survey? Is the house in otherwise good condition? No house will be perfect, and a re-roof is actually a fairly easy and non-invasive fix, you just can't out anything in the loft whilst it is being done.0

I think Tom may be throwing his toys out of the pram because no one has said it's a big problem that needs a renegotiation on price. Tom, put your big boy pants on and get realistic.1

Roof doesn’t need a felt lining. And slipped tiles may simply be easily put back or replaced. But the roof may be close to the end of its life. It’s a 1930’s build with an original roof so presumably any offer made reflected this, if you want to adjust your offer over felt that was never there and a few slipped tiles..then I’d tell you where to go. And secondly if there was a problem with the roof that was unexpected and therefore not factored into your offer you should go about it in a far more pleasant way,
You sound like a nightmare buyer and luckily for your vendors there will be another buyer just round the corner and probably one who is far less obnoxious.1 -
Confirms my earlier post. I hesitate to stereotype people but ....FTBs eh?

I was going to suggest you may be better with a new build if you wanted a house with no issues but they tend to have more things that need fixing than something which has been in place for the best part of 90 years.
This is one of the biggest frustrations with selling houses. Idiots who think vendors will bend over backwards to accommodate0
