Is it possible that they were just happy to be moved and playing the music loud while they were unpacking?
Hopefully they'll be at work during the day and just hearing your sounds from above may give them a hint that sound travels.
A Smartphone has a noise level indicator and will record, mines 11yrs old so not a new gadget
My neighbour used to have her radio on the chimney breast, annoying not being able to hear it clearly or not hear it but she was followed by some that did renovation every day for 7mts solid. Now happily somewhere much smaller but detached with neighbours who are considerate.
It may be because I started out asking if my radio was bothering them/my TV as I like doors and windows open in summer and now they do the same for me. Perhaps a coversation could start with asking if your noise is a problem for them - then progress you asked because their music came through loud in your part.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on

Social nudges fail when dealing with self-centred individuals, they will perceive your "admission" to be a fault in you and not think about their own behaviour. The OP's neighbours may not be in this camp but we won't know until they try.
