What mobile network works with 2G phones

I need to buy a sim card for a 2G phone but what networks will work.

I would have gone with three if they did 2G. I don't trust coverage checkers as when I was looking for a sim for my grandad 02 and plusnet showed that I would get good coverage but when I tried both sims I couldn't get one bar.

In my experience Vodafone have the best coverage for 2g.
You can get the same coverage for less £ with Lebara

Plusnet = O2 anyway? Same as Giffgaff = O2.

For the OP, try O2, EE or Voda, or MVNOs aligned with these providers (to generally get a lower cost and/or more flexible contract arrangement). Avoid 3 or any MVNO that is aligned with 3.

You're right - they use EE. (Which should have been obvious ... I was mistakenly thinking they were owned by O2 but they're actually owned by BT).
