My Worcester boiler had a 5 year guarantee from Worcester.
I had no details but contacted them through Facebook and he was able to find it and confirm  it had 4 months left. Boiler was repaired free of charge by local authorised dealer.
  • Extended warranty is likely o be with manufacturer.
But the advice is unchanged. As part of the pre-Exchange enquiries, ask for a copy of the warranty and you'll get the answer of who the warranty is with and whether it is transferrable.
As suggested, also check the conditions of the warranty. Were they complied with and is the warranty therefore now valid or invalid?

The boiler is less than a year old so not even due a service yet. So unless they've tampered with it in some way then I assume the warranty is still valid.

Yes, it'll be with WB, unless it's a BG branded WB. Almost all boilers installed in the past few years have at least a 5 year manufacturer's warranty, if done by an approved (WB) installer, and some 10 years (the latter usually when purchased as an extended warranty at the time of install).
All these warranties however are contingent on an annual service by a registered installer for the brand, so if that hasn't been done.the warranty will now be void.
Why don't you simply ask the vendor? All this is speculation. Or get the s/n and check here:

PS: I can see no reference to indicate that the warranty is not transferable: it's against the property, not the owner. You simply need to be able to prove if required: a) date of install, b) Benchmark Commissioning form completed, c) registered within 30 days of install, and d) annual service history.
If it's one year old, the vendor should have all the paperwork to support this.
