NS&I - More problems?

Is anyone else experiencing problems with NS&I (again). I paid in two amounts on consecutive days over a week ago. When I looked at the website yesterday one had been credited but not cleared and the other was still pending. Even allowing for the bank holiday this exceeded the amount of time for clearing stated on the website The web chat was saying "all agents busy try later" and there was an announced 30 minute wait on the phone line. While waiting on the phone I kept trying the web chat and eventually got to type in my issue so hung up the phone. However, the web chat then reverted to the previous message so I gave up. This morning there was a queue to get onto the website and after eventually signing in I was just presented with a blank page. I know they're under pressure at the moment due to covid etc but this is getting ridiculous. Either it's a service or it isn't. Other banking and saving services I use seem to be managing.

Addendum.... My wife had a signing in issue for which there was no apparent solution on the website. She printed off and completed a form and sent this with a covering letter three weeks ago. So far, no reply......0

Exactly when did you pay, how and into which product?DevonCodger said:I paid in two amounts on consecutive days over a week ago. For example, https://www.nsandi.com/files/asset/pdf/income-bonds-brochure.pdf states debit card or cheque clearing no later than the seventh banking day after being received, so, given the bank holiday, only payments made by Friday 21 August can really be considered late (by that benchmark) if not yet received....

Thanks for the clarification. I paid by debit card. That'll teach me to read all the bumf. I obviously misinterpreted the head of the web page which says "Bank transfers can take two to three banking days to reach your Income Bonds account. You'll earn interest from the date we receive your money." Maybe this needs to be a little clearer for non-bankers !eskbanker said:

There is a prominent message at the top of your accounts. I can't see how NS&I could spell it out any clearer.

A further message on the "Pay money in" page also states.Deposits made between the 20th of the month and the 5th of the following month will remain in your Pending transactions until we update your account balance on the first working day after the 5th - your deposit still earns interest from the day you invest.
I'm struggling to see how much clearer they could be.

As said above there is a period over the end of every month and beginning of the next when deposits do not show until first working day after 5th. You still get interest. I believe it is because they are working on the monthly interest payment figures which pay out on the 5th.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Thank you everyone for taking the time to respond and clarify though I don't think Colsten, that you understood my initial point, mistaken as it was. Anyhow, I will now go away and nurse my own stupidity.0

Just had to queue for about 10 mins to get onto NS&i, first time for me!
Must have a lot of traffic
Starting to feel my life is on holdI choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0 -
I too just had to join a queue. It was only for a couple of minutes, so no big deal, but it's the 1st time I've had to do this.
Also for the 1st time I could not initially see my recent transactions in "Pending" - I have a couple of large amounts in there I deposited this week.After depositing my latest investment, I could then see all my recent transactions in "Pending", but it is clear their website is struggling to cope with demand at the moment.0
