Covid grants for photographers

Hi, am I right in thinking that, although there appear to be lots of local authority based grants for Covid (e.g. the Local Authority Discretionary Grants Fund, the Small Business Grant Fund), photographers would only be eligible for these if we actually operate out of a premises? In other words, if we're wedding photographers effectively based from our home (with maybe occasional families visiting for a studio shoot too), there are no such grants? Just checking as didn't want to miss out! (UK based)

Those grants have all been used up, and only applied to businesses with premises.0

Unfortunately I didn't qualify for the self-employment help. Although I've been full time self-employed for 27 months now, the tax years fell such that I didn't quite make the 50% mark in the tax year they're using. I genuinely think I'm someone who's fallen down the crack and haven't been able to get assistance at all.macman said:SEISS, BBL?0 -
Can you not apply for a BBL on your business account.
I am a photographer with a studio so got the premises grant , SEISS and a BBL no problems.
SEISS was rather low as it had be first year with setup costs in there but you can't win them all.
Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017
Quit day job to run 3 businesses 08/02/2017

Son born 13/09/2015
Started a second business 03/08/2013
Officially the owner of my own business since 13/01/20120 -
Yes, I think you're right. Would you agree, @Grumpy_chap?bonnet said:

If I read your post correctly, self-employed for 27 months to end of August 2020. So:bonnet said:Unfortunately I didn't qualify for the self-employment help. - 12 months within 2019 - 20 (not considered for SEISS assessment)
- 10 months within 2018 - 19 (considered for SEISS assessment)
You can still claim tax deferral, loan payment holidays, BBLS.
There is still UC available. All the coronavirus support is additional to that.

I was exactly the same - I worked PAYE employed whilst setting up business and getting contacts and seeing how viable it would be to give up employment - 2018/19 I earnt more than the 50% income from employment. 2019/20 I earnt more from self employment than 2018/19 employment - but 2019/20 not considered for SEISS.Grumpy_chap said:

It doesn't necessarily come down to the employed/self-employed income balance in 18/19. The OP may possibly have savings or investment income that reduced the self-employed proportion to less than 50%.Grumpy_chap said:

Yes, you are correct. With all the set up costs etc, this is exactly what has happened....Grumpy_chap said:

"That means the 2 months of employment in 2018 - 19 earned more than 10 months of self-employment to fail on the 50% eligibility criteria for SEISS. Is that correct?"
