Ofcom put regulations in place that gives other providers access to BT Exchanges now so they can put in their own place. Talk Talk has just the same access as any other provider. Do your homework & check your facts before spouting the above.
Thats what any good company does, however its the blatent cherry picking by Talk Talk & the lack of vision that Talk Talk & it's employee's (well documented in this thread for sure) have on this subject. Only now when the regulatory authority has said to these providers to stop palming off their customers to other providers have companies like Talk Talk started to act.
As Heinz said, don't take members of these forums as fools. Irrespective of whether your assistance to members is appreciated or not, what people don't appreciate is representatives of a company trying to pull the wool over their eyes.
Sorry, what i meant to say was
"Your right other providers are able to provision lines but not all providers do"
It sounded right in my head lol. You tend to find representatives of an ISP dont get told everything, TTSupport may have just told you as he believed it to be true from information that had been given to him. We're all human and all make mistakes, he's only just come into the job today i believe so there are certain things that he might not understand 100% and can only rely on information he gathers from other people. I just dont see the need to jump on him so harshly.0 -

He comes to this site the major money saving site in the UK ,representing the second largest residential normal phone company in UK and posts false information,is it any wonder he is jumped on. He cant even be bothered to amend/correct his post.0 -
I contacted talk talk about re connection
this is their reply;
''Unfortunately, to join TalkTalk, you must have an active BT line.
There is no way that we are able to connect your line via OpenReach,
as they are owned by BT and would have to order any work for them via BT.
You would be subject also to any contract imposed by BT when your line is
activated, which may also include a disconnection fee if you were to
change providers mid contract

Another load of tosh. Talk Talk wouldn't go through BT Retail. They would approach Openreach as a Communication provider & they would liaise with Openreach to get the line installed for you & then it would be up to Talk Talk how they would bill you for the installation charge.0

So how comes they are already connecting customers in association with Openreach in their trials then.
Talk Talk (Carphone) are skilled in the art of misinformation.Another recent example here. http://www.mobiletoday.co.uk/news.aspx?id=278680 -
BT are just as bad though. Asking some simple questions the other day led to completely different answers from different people. Don't really have much confidence in either BT or Talktalk."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
