Junior ISA / Stocks & Shares advice

Hi... our second child has just arrived and I never got round to sorting any proper savings account for the first one... oops!
So now I want to do it. As the money will be locked away for 18 and 14 years respectively, I'm fine with potentially doing a stocks and shares junior ISA. Hopefully any market blips would resolve over that period of time. But I do have a little risk aversion in me so I also saw the CS&I Junior ISA as an option too.
So my question is, what should I do and am I crazy? There doesn't seem to be any decent comparisons across the two options and the ones with nice rewards or cashback will do doubt claw the money back some other way in the case of the stocks & shares ISA. So I thought I'd throw it open to anyone wiser than me to help me in the right direction

You are not crazy for wanting to provide something for when your children are older although you might want to consider what proportion of that money you want to accumulate in adult ISA accounts under your control rather than Junior ISA accounts that they get to spend on whatever they like at 18. For Junior ISAs then NS&I is attractive for cash and Fidelity are unbeatable for stocks and shares (no fees for buying and holding a wide choice of funds). You are correct that most cashback deals will claw the money back (and more) through higher charges over the years.
