Child Maintenance Question

Hi,

I have a child arrangement order and have done since 2017. Now the agreement is that my son lives with me on a full time basis and has 6 hours supervised contact every other week with his mother.

in the arrangement there’s specifics about gifts etc however not about Maintanence.

his mother has since married and doesn’t work and lives off her other half.

now my question is where do I stand with regards to child maintenance? Is it solely based upon her own earnings or joint earnings between them both?

maintenance would be solely based on her earnings, her husbands earnings are not relevant/included in the calculations

  • It would be based on her earnings. You could still apply for maintenance incase she does get a job or if she is claiming benefits you will get £7 a week
