My N26 account app (Android) has selectable prevention of screenshots in the security settings, switched on by default, and has this explanation when you change the setting:
 "Prevent screenshots
Enabling this setting will hide the content of your N26 app when switching between apps running in the background."Evolution, not revolution0

There is a Secure Flag that app developers can set in Android to not allow screenshots (or videos recording) - banking apps often use it.colsten said:I can't think of any reason why you couldn't make screenshots of anything you can see on your display.
It's possible to get around it or it used to be if you search Google.1

Seems a pretty anal thing to do by a bank, to prevent their customers from taking a screenshot of their own data. Particularly if iOS and Windows users can take screenshots to their hearts delight. Or when you can take a photo, ask your mate to take a photo, or even take a scan on a printer.
Can anyone think of a reason why they would want to do this? And why would an OS even have such a function?0

No idea but just logging into the browser means you can screenshot to your hearts content anyway.
As an aside, can you change your username please? I find it racist you name yourself after a slave trader 😘0

I have got nothing to do with Edward Colston. I could be offended that you are trying to play the racist card even though you know absolutely nothing about me. But I will put it down to you not seeing the difference between Colston and colsten. Besides, to determine that somebody is racist simply based on their name is a bit daft.bradders1983 said:

I suspect that the app developers have simply seen that there’s an option to disable screenshots and done so. I suppose that if someone logged in and left their phone unattended for a few moments, someone else could screenshot transactions and blackmail them. Note that this is just me clutching at straws for a reason and I don’t think it valid. Can anyone think of a reason why they would want to do this? And why would an OS even have such a function? To answer the broader question, I do see a practical reason for disabling video as it would presumably otherwise allow copying of copyrighted material such as a sporting event or movie.0
