Does tariff prices change each month?

Thing is do you pick the cheapest being a not well known supplier, to one of the main ones. Cheaper is always best but when it comes to this I'm not sure about that.0

"I currently have a British Gas smart meter, if I was to go with separate suppliers, do they need to install new meters or just give them meter readings?"
The meters won't be changed but will probably go dumb - get into the habit of reading monthly and keep records.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
To answer your question on tariffs changing, Yes they can, I called SSE a few weeks before my fixed tariff was due to end and got a quote for my THTC setup. I called about 3 weeks later and the tariff previously quoted was no longer available, as it had been on sale, and the cheapest tariff they offered was way more expensive. I remembered being told I could sign up to the tariff up until my end date and so they honoured it. If memory serves me right the difference was about £300.0
