I sold a car 10 days ago fully road worthy with a fresh MOT with no known faults, I had been driving the car daily for 50 miles a day for the last 7 months. I've got a car sales receipt signed by both parties Sold as Seen.
I've just had a message from the seller that the car broke down today and the AA have said the gearbox has gone. The seller is requesting a full refund of £780 the car was advertised for £950.
What are my rights as I sold the car in working order

You sold the car and got paid for it. Nothing else to worry about.
Bad driving could easily trash a gearbox in 10 days.0 -
Just got another message from the buyer, on closer inspection it's the driveshaft that's gone not the gearbox.
Do I ignore his messages or continue talking to him?0 -
Just state sold as seen and that you politely request they don't contact you again. Then ignore any further contact.0

I'm ignoring his messages and not responding anymore.1

I suggest not to block number incase buyer become threatening. Better to be aware of even empty threats.0

Buyers such as the one in question really **** me off.
They paid £780 for a car with a full MOT yet they still want it supplied with a warranty!
When they say "the driveshaft has gone", this could mean that they broke it going over a speed hump at excessive speed, hit a pothole or even swopped it out and fitted it to another car and refitted a knackered one.1 -
Driveshafts are a lot cheaper than gearboxes.0
