Mobile number porting after 30 days?

Hi I have just changed my mobile operator 5 weeks ago. I called them up today and asked to port my old number over using a PAC code only to be told that you may only port a number over within 30 days and as this had expired I was stuck with the new number. Is this correct and there is nothing I can do about it?

Thanks in advance.....

its within the 1st 14 days with o2. the pac code will have eexpired if not used within 30 days. ring your service provider back and ask them if they can port over if you get a new pac code.

  • All Pac codes are valid for 30 days.

If not used then you have to contact your old network to get another Pac.

If you do not you will still be connected to your old network and billed.

Not sure that's right. You can disconnect your previous service without getting a PAC - the two are not incontrovertibly linked.

To disconnect your line you can either give 30 days notice to cancel if you do not need the number anymore or you can ask for a PAC code which is valid for 30 days.

if you do not use the Pac code within 30 days your line will continue as other people on his forum have found out recently.
