Don't try to get out of it, try to learn from it and never do it again. If he is prone to forgetting use this as a prompt to think about if he should be driving. This is a fine that is a punishment. If you do the above, system works.0

I'm sure this episode will jog his memory next time he drives.One of my family was in an open topped car 20 years ago driven by his girlfriend with two other passengers, he was the only one not wearing a seatbelt.When she turned the car over on a mountain bend he was the only one injured, in a coma for months, ended with permanent brain injury.The compensation he got to help him with the rest of his life now working is difficult (he was very successful up to then) was indeed reduced from around £1M to 800K, he has never married, or found a job he can keep, and has lost almost all his friends going out with someone that walks like he's drunk isn't cool!Your dad should be grateful the police are there to help him, blaming the lockdown for this is ridiculous, did he forget how to change gear or look over his shoulder when he pulled out also?1
