They also got rid of two other engineers a trainee and a senoir and they were also put in groups. The two that went had no hope of staying either.
If they had "no hope" then if they were less able or skilled or capable than their peers then there was nothing unfair in their being selected as the ones to go.

I think I am being targeted for redundancy due to my age (60 years),the average age is 25-30 years and my long list of health issues, Cardiovascular Disease, Kidney disease, memory issues caused by early onset cardiovascular dementia, mental health issues, anxiety, depression, insomnia, plantar fasciitis, awaiting several skin cancers to removed, and other problems currently under investigation.
I should add my work attendance is perfect,no sick days in 8 years.

This one you mean? Post #4? Well how can you prove it, they've scored you against all Lead Engineers, which you are one of them? You have come out bottom, have they stated how you have scored and on what criteria?

I agree I cant prove it,they know what they are doing they are not stupid.I have a sister who works for a big oil company, she is an accountant and often is on the board dealing with redundancies, she told me that the people they are making redundant has been decided long before it goes to the ponting in groups, and that is what happened with me,the groups were created to make life easy for them.
I don't care if I lose really,if I can make things a little difficult for them by going through all the appeal processes,I will it is free and  I have plentty time on my hands now.

Unless the job you actually did has become redundant, a redundancy situation does not exist. If it is a genuine redundancy situation, then given the list of your health problems, your employers are going to use the incapability card  as the reason you were selected.
    That is a common misconception.

The people that go do not have to be the ones doing the jobs that are redundant.

Okay so my employer made me redundant yesterday after 14 and a half years loyal service, reason given due to down turn in business due to Corona virus and low oil prices. I should point out the Ebitda for the year is about 6.5 million, about 1 million down from last year but still showing a healthy profit.

I believe I was target due to my age (60 years old) and my poor health. I am on borrowed time but can still do a full day’s work as could as a 20-year-old there. No performance issues, are mentioned.

I have decided to appeal their decision, started with the internal appeal, and let it go to unfair dismissal if necessary.

Thought from anyone, how are my chances rated on winning this?

What evidence do you have that it was your age and medical conditions? Was there criteria used to score that implied those were reasons? If so then maybe but if not and it was other factors that are factually correct then you may not have a case.
