EasyJet: Exchange voucher for cash

Against my better I blinked under family pressure and took £400 in vouchers in April. Projecting forward I cannot see a way that they will be used and now understand that I have to book by next April. Then, if I can't take the flights, I run the risk of costs to change them and/or loss of all if they cannot be taken. Can anyone confirm this or advise a way out of the trap? Ideally, EasyJet will refund the balance. Why do I doubt that??
