Capital gains tax on RSU

in Cutting tax
Hi,
I am trying to understand if I owe any CG tax on shares sold from RSU sales. I understand that any gains over the threshold will be subject to CG.
When my RSU's vest my company immediately sell a portion of the RSU's to cover tax. I have also sold some shares during the tax year. Is the CG amount worked out on all shares sold including the shares sold to cover tax or only the ones I decide to sell?
In my trade account the total gain / loss for the tax year is $20,000 but the adjusted gain loss is $2,000. Is CG worked out on the total or the adjusted gain?
I hope that makes sense! Any ideas really welcome,
Thanks

Any gain (or loss) is on the price movements after vesting. You pay income tax (and NI) on the price at vesting for all the shares, so that has already been taxed. After vesting you own the shares, and may have a CGT liability on the price movement wrt the market value at vesting. (That's how my RSUs work - UK employee of a US company - which I assume you are too?)
