Forum not processing keyboard shortcuts properly

I'm experiencing issues with standard Windows keyboard shortcuts on this new "Vanilla" forum software, for example:
- Ctrl + Left Arrow: should move my cursor left by 1 word
- Shift + Ctrl + Left Arrow: should move my cursor and extend the current highlighted selection left by 1 word

Can’t offer a solution, but can understand.
When keyboard shortcuts don’t work on a website it just totally stops you in your tracks.
