Bought a bike during Covid, I want to send it back due to not needed, AFTER weeks of trying I finally contacted Argos who said I need to ring number as it came from the suppliers warehouse not argos directly (which I did, charged me £20 for that phone call) The bike company emailed me so I stated I wanted them to collect the bike as no longer needed, the replied with “because past 30days, I couldn’t return it” so I replied with “as it was bought from Argos not them directly I had until 15th August” (which it was before that date) they replied with nothing they can do contact Argos!!!! Iv been trying to send this bike back, still in box not even opened, since May and now it’s past the deadline and I can’t get hold of anyone to sort it out... any Iv got proof of when I first tried contacting Argos/warehouse! Any ideas what I can do next please?? Any help is appreciated

Its an Argos problem not the bike company .You bought online from Argos , what date purchase what date asked to return would help .0

Change of mind will also be a return at your cost.2

Bought it in May, and tried sending it back in June, wasnt a change of mind it was change of circumstances (due to injury I couldn’t use it) It was a delivery only item so couldn’t take it back to the store (did try)0

It is not faulty, you just don't want it due to your circumstances, therefore it is a change of mind8

What’s the actual time difference here, your stated time scale could be 1 day - 2 months.mushfo said:Bought it in May, and tried sending it back in June, wasnt a change of mind it was change of circumstances (due to injury I couldn’t use it) It was a delivery only item so couldn’t take it back to the store (did try)
Did you use the bike during this time?0 -
You would normally have 14 days from receiving the goods to inform them you planned to return so we need to know the date you received the bike and the date you first contacted argos.1

I had the bike 16th May and first contacted argos 5th June, they didn’t reply until 23rd June to ask for the order number etc, which I sent to them, then heard nothing again after that, until I messaged them again, I went to the store and a colleague I knew who worked there rang someone for me, who said I needed to ring the Return help line, because the bike came straight from pure tec warehouse and not argos, which was automated, then they got back to me, I told them it was no longer needed and needed someone to come pick it up. They said it’s argos responsibility, I’m still trying to get hold of argos, the bike is still in the box it was delivered in, never been opened0

What number are you calling?
Their website suggestsCollections for items delivered after 1 March 2020: Have your order number handy and call 0345 600 4408 if…
- You purchased your order after 1 March 2020
- Your order was originally delivered (not picked up from a store)
- You’re returning your ‘whole’ order (all items on this order)
- You’re returning your item/s for a full refund (not exchanging for another product

Yes that’s the number I called, (also charged me £20 to ring them, it’s automated, and I kept on getting cut off) then the manufacturer got back to me And said i had to contact argos! I’ve tried argos chat, also argos Facebook chat! It’s just so frustrating0

Is this another case of someone calling from a phone without a calling plan? 0345 numbers cost no more than any other geographic number, so if you have a phone with a calling plan (whether landline or mobile) then calls to that number would be inclusive (subject to a possible 60 minutes per call limit).3
