  • Hi Jess, just wrote a massive post and lost it. Have you heard of hypnobirthing? The hypnosis side really helped me relax, sleep and get rid of fears during my second pregnancy. I loved Sophie fletchers audio. Plus every mum I know had a completely different labour second time round (easy said I know). Willtry post a link, but I'm sure you'll do amazing 😘

Thanks, but I'm not sure that's going to help... I can't have the birth I want and am forced into a caesarean.  I know people have them everyday and often elect to have them for various reasons etc, but it just doesn't make me feel any better.  Somehow I just have to get my head round it, but I'm really struggling with the whole thing.

At least I'm very good with any pain, so not worried in the least about that bit.

  • Hypnobirthing is all about having the best possible birth for you, no matter what type of birth, and trying to alleviate and ease your worries. A lot of the info will be irrelevant because it's your second birth and know the type of delivery you'll be having. But there are bits of it that I think would help. Even just listening to the track when you feel the worry and stress building or if you're struggling to sleep. That's pretty much what I used it for second time round.

  • It might also help you deal with the emotions of not being able to have the birth you want. It's not about having a pain free,  hippy-dippy labour. Hypnobirthing is so much more. I found it more beneficial in pregnancy than during my labours.

Jess. I can hear the struggling in your words - how difficult you're finding this. A healthy baby is NOT the only thing that matters. It is important, of course, but you matter too. Let me say that again. YOU MATTER TOO. If you are upset, that is perfectly valid. However you feel is valid.

It's very difficult to get things across via text on a forum. However, my job role is supporting people with their pregnancies and births. My door is open. I work virtually as well as in person. I know it can be hard to see how that is relevant to your situation, maybe it feels pointless in light of what you're facing, but I assure you it is not. If you would like to talk, I am here. Just drop me a message into my inbox and we can set something up.

Well the only light at the end of the tunnel at the moment is that it is a scheduled procedure.  As my parents have had their vaccinations, they are going to travel up and shield with us so they can look after DS.

It's just one thing after another though.  Back to the hospital for the millionth time because I measure small again.  It's all so frustrating.  I'm actually not worried about that as I am tiny, my side of the family are even smaller and my DH is below average height.  I know they have to check though and I had this last time too.  I guess they will leave the caesarean to literally the last minute because of this.

Looking forward to finishing work next week (only working 2 days next week) so I have more time to try and sort myself out.
