Mileage discrepancy issue
Hello,
I bought my car back in 2017 and have been looking to sell it this week. It was brought to my attention that there's a mileage discrepancy from 2018, but I didn't pick it up at the time as most of my documents show the following:
2017 MOT - Mileage 28637
2018 MOT - Mileage 38242
2019 MOT - Mileage 48096
2020 MOT - Mileage 57501
However, the guy at a sales garage this week showed me on the website that a mileage discrepancy flashes up and that two MOT's were put down on the exact same day as my 2018 MOT, with another as having 60786 miles. My 2018 MOT certificate shows the accurate 38242 mileage, but when I've gone to look at my most recent MOT certificate I can now see that it says:
2018 MOT - 38242
2018 MOT - 60786 (both on the same day)
I hadn't picked up on it at the time because I trusted the garage and was only looking at the most up to date information on it. Any advice on this or what I can do to rectify it?
Thank you in advance.

It happens and not everyone pick it up and this one has been picked up which is good. Its called a mistake typing in the wrong numbers, number - it happen to our son's car a few years ago, his first mot on his then suv, he though he'd sell with an mot as it was nearing three years old, then a few days later prpaing the sale he noted the mileage reading, i thing 51444 or whatever inteaed of the genuine mileage of 51444 - he went to the garage and they sorted it and i don't think they printed off the paper or if there is an explanation on the mot website. You should be ok but see what an mot tester states if one posts here0

Is it a digital odometer, with a button to switch between miles and km?
Because 38k miles is 61k km...
You can't change what was recorded two years ago, but there's an obvious explanation.2 -

The mileage's the OP listed all seem consistent.
The erroneous data point for 2018 is clearly a mistake. Any rationale person should be able to see that from the pattern arising from the data set taken as a whole.2 -
