Do not expect common sense from a law firm which accepts PPCs as clients, and if you think that they have acted improperly complain to their regululatory bodies.

    UPDATE:

I have now received a Letter Before Claim from Gladstones. As per the Newbies thread I have prepared an SAR to be emailed to the PPC, and an email to Gladstones informing them of the SAR / seeking debt advice / the case must be put on hold for no less than 30 days.

The Letter Before Claim gives a deadline of 14th April for my reply, so effectively my case is on hold until then anyway.

So my question is, should I wait until a few days before the 14th April deadline to send my PPC/SAR and Gladstones emails, so that the proper 'on hold' 30 day period starts as late as possible, or should I just send out the emails straight away without waiting?

    Wait till the last day.

And read my replies on Gladstones threads in March because there's more to say about a 'lack of good faith' and reporting them to the SRA, if they knowingly add costs the Govt has declared to be extortion.

You need to read the thread by bargepole about the new Code of Practice, published on 7th Feb.  It's not law yet so can't be 'breached' yet, but the words about the added £60/£70 are clear - it's banned.
