My 87 yr old father has solar panels on his roof. He can't remember the company that fitted them, or exactly when they were fitted. All he can tell me is that they were fitted for FREE but he doesn't own them, the company have leased the roof space. I have an LPA for him, so have access to his bank accounts, but I see no payments for rent or lease of his roof from anywhere.
Meanwhile, Dad is now getting letters from various companies, offering to service the panels for a fee. In his, now, mentally confused state, he thinks he HAS to pay them. I've told him we need to know what company fitted them & when they were fitted, so we can check with them.
I'm not able to visit, due to distance. He's not able to access  his attic space to look at the instalment, so I'm asking him to look for information in the meter box.
He sees a sticker label "H. I. S. Group" with a phone number 02890455136 plus the number 198 13. When I try to phone, the number is not recognised. A search for HIS in any format of abbreviations, comes back as a travel company.
The most recent letter about servicing contracts, is from ANESCO, but his only options are an automated phone line, or text/email options to either say yes or no. Dad is convinced that ANESCO have remotely turned the panels off, because since the letter arrived, they have stopped producing power. I've done search for ANESCO & looking at the website it found, they only do commercial or business rooftop installations, so I'm not sure they are the correct company.

Can anyone advise me on how to find out who owns the panels please? Or a contact for H. I. S. Group, if they're still in existence?

He most probably signed with a 'Rent a Roof' company. These firms got home owners to sign a 20 or 25 year contract to lease the roof. In exchange for that lease the home owner gets to use the electricity generated and the firm get the lucrative Feed in Tariff(FIT) payments. The downside is that if the house is to be sold the new owner has to agree with the conditions of the lease and this has prevented many sales.
If the power has been turned off it is likely someone will turn up to find out the problem as the owners of the panels will not be getting their FIT.
All installers had to be registered with the MCS so to trace the firm they would be a good place to start https://mcscertified.com/

Now known as Saliis.  Seem to have moved from Belfast to south of the border and no longer do solar installations.

I'm not sure it would have been an Irish company, as Dad is in Monmouthshire. But I guess you never know. I've emailed MCS for advice tonight, and I'll look into Saliis tomorrow. Thank you both.

    Did you read the links?
    >"SALIIS Limited was established in 2010 and commenced trading in 2012, delivering energy, environmental and communication services to both private and public sector customers across the United Kingdom and Ireland."
The Facebook ad even shows the same Carryduff (028) 9045 5136 number.
